Innovation Dinner: Big data, big ideas straight to the cloud
ITNewsAfrica.com announced in an article that Avanade South Africa and SAS Institute South Africa have confirmed their lead sponsorship of the next Innovation Dinner scheduled in June. The theme chosen for this event is “Big Data, Cloud and the African Enterprise.”
The Innovation Dinner Series, an event that takes place every two months, provides a platform for networking amongstAfrica’s ICT professionals, entrepreneurs and business people.
The next event, scheduled for 04 June at the Michelangelo Hotel and Towers in Sandton, Johannesburg, will see delegates discuss what Big Data and Cloud means for the African enterprise and the impact of these game-changers going forward.
The big data phenomenon is in full swing, prompting more businesses worldwide to focus on ways to find value in information to enhance decision-making and improve other areas of their firms.
Although the use of big data analytics can result in many positives, doing so is easier said than done, given the scope of such resources. This has led some industry professionals to encourage organizations to implement cloud computing to handle these workloads.
The focus on both cloud computing and big data is expected to intensify in the near future as more executives realize the importance of taking advantage of corporate information for continued success.
